A workshop titled "Multi-Stakeholder Engagement on Water Resources Management in Bangladesh" was held on 18 March 2015 to initiate multi-stakeholder engagement for a sustainable water resources management in Bangladesh. Three study reports were presented related to water resources assessment, industrial water use and legislative gap for sustainable water resources protection. The presentations were followed by a presentation from WARPO on overall water governance situation and state of water resources. An interactive group discussion on the challenges and opportunities towards implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the country was followed after the presentations and a number of recommendations were made from the workshop to the Ministry of Water Resoures for their implementations. .
The workshop was jointly organized by Water Resources Planning Organization (WARPO), 2030 Water Resources Group (WRG) together with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources. Hon'ble Minister and State Minister, Ministry of Water Resources were present as chief and special guest respectively in the workshop.
